At the time of adding this blog entry Pam & I are in Australia. We arrived 8th Oct 2013 in time for Pam's mum 96th birthday and intended to stay until 8th Jan 2014. However our return has been delayed by Pam managing to do a good job on breaking her right wrist. Below is a mini-newsletter we emailed to our contact list.
Dear Friends,
Since Pam broke her wrist in Jan, delaying our return to Uganda, we have been to Dubbo for Christmas with Pam's Mum, brother and family, spoke at Milthorpe Uniting Church, stayed with family in Blayney, spoke at our home church in Baulkham Hills, stayed at a friends house in Orange and are now in Nambucca Heads where we have caught up with Allan's sister and brother in law (during our time in Australia we mostly stay with our very hospitable friends Colin & Wendy Baker in Baulkham Hills).
We hope to return to Sydney from Nambucca Heads on around the 8th Feb to continue finalising visits and business in Australia and preparing for our return to Uganda, God willing, around mid March.
The good news is that things are going well in Kamuli while we are away. Budahla has managed to get all 22 students back in school for this term, no small feat we can assure you. Six different schools are involved.
Christine has kept our rented house in Kamuli going and has just sent a report that has been a delight to read.
We have also had a great report from Bezallel school with many good passes in the P7 Government external exam, Primary Leaving, last year, with a girl topping the class.
Our friend David Hey also got a great report from both schools that his group Bezcan is sponsoring about the training of teachers in the use of text books. Please pray for David's health as he will have surgery in the near future. (David's BezCan project web site can be found at http://bezcan.com )

Below: A report just received from Christine our house manager and partner in ministry (sent while Pam and Allan were visiting Australia). We are excited that things are going so well in our absence. Ideally we hope to have been put out of a job by the time we leave Uganda (in Christine's report 'blanket'=material for mulch, 'harsh'=wood ash).
I had that you are doing well, thats good to hear and interesting. i have written to you to send a report about farming God's way and the prison ministry.
In farming God's way last saterday we prepared the land , digging holes, applying harsh and manure but we haven't to plant because its still too hot so we are waiting for some rain then we start planting.
Ronald from pastor Nelson finished his studies so he came here and he told me that you gave him some money such that he can return it through working for you so he promised me to bring some blanket.
There is another way of planting ginger, so am going to ask Wilson from prison such that we can do a demonstration here and we see how it works
Prison ministry
On 26/01/2014 Pastor Angela, Jack and Damali went to prison but 16prisoners became saved. about the chrismas offer the prisoners were really very happy and they said that let God bless you and all the people you work with.
This last sunday we went with Jack, Paul and me . Jack is the one who preached , for me and Paul we took over in singing so they really enjoyed .1 prisoner became saved and the good thing some of the old prisoners went, Jesus is making miracles and he is doing a good work in them.
Thank you for the transport which you gave us for the prison ministry may God bless you.
I thank you Allan and Pam for whatever you do for us and the prisoners.
Pam give my thanks to the members in your church that i really appliciate for the good work they do in uganda, may God really bless them abondantly and let God bless all their families.
Please greet all.
Love from Christine
Love and wishes for a great and blessed 2014,
